S.E.L.F.I.E., the “The Self Enhancing Live Feed Image Engine”
This magical mirror is triggered by simply standing in front of the mirror and holding a smile. Hidden LED’s indicate a countdown, then simulate a “flash” as your photo is taken. The photo is then automatically posted to Twitter with a watermark or logo. Boom.
The SELFIE mirror uses Python and the OPENCV library to capture images at a rapid pace and applies a sophisticated facial- recognition algorithm to each image. If a face is recognized, the application sends a signal to an Arduino sensor that triggers a visual "countdown" sequence. An Intel Galileo is used to detect the presence of individuals standing in front of mirror so that the lights can be activated using a combination of a sonar sensor and AC relay. Once recognized the user's photo is taken and submitted for approval.
